London trip - the slackiest and most expensive trip lol

First day in London, a preview of my travel companions:

mark looking shock and succeed in looking really shock

This trip to london was one amusing trip, cos it was so slack we lazed almost throughout the trip, partly because mark n I fell sick, and we had to watch mich n sw eating the famous dark rice while ours were just plain porridge… but overall, the trip was fantastic, free museums everywhere, where else can we find this? Not exactly a museum person though, but the museums that I visited were interesting enough.. To make this 5 day London trip short, I shall just highlight some points to remind me of what happened during the trip:

Mark fell sick first. Then I fell sick on Christmas eve, puked just outside the entrance of Kensington park on Christmas day, in contrast to the 10x vomit record in Geneva in my pre-semester travel, this was nothing. Later when I met sin hui in Milan, I realized that she fell sick on the same day as me… and poor sinhui cant enjoy her Switzerland trip much.. we both got better when we meet at Milan, that time we were super cautious of our health, just to be on the safe side, I bought 1 banana and 1 apple, each for 1 euro, in Milan train station. (1 euro=2S$)

The slackest day was Christmas day, we woke up very late at around 11pm, started to lazed around, watched tv, staring into blank space, then till 12pm, michelle decided that it was time for us to move out of the room, and go and do something, maybe whip up a lunch…haha, she was our only energizer, if not for her, we would probably continue to laze till goodness knows when…she was also the first one to get up and the first one to rise from the dining table to wash the dishes… haha, in the end we moved out into the cold, the freezing cold, walked all the way to hyde park… that was when my stomach decided to puke and I had to return back to the hostel… felt much better after the puking, and the hostel guy even took care of me, he prepared me some herbal hot tea and gave me a hot pillow for my stomach, the rest came back to the hostel soon, n immediately went straight for the beds…sw n mark were exhausted, while mich was the only awake one… I was half-asleep, .. a few min later, mark began to snored… we then exchanged looks,,.. in the end mich couldn’t stand it any longer and demanded that we go cook dinner soon or else she would die of boredom… hahaha…after dinner, we went back to the room again and watch “love actually” till midnight… this was a description of our “nuah”day… on Christmas day when I expect we could see some interesting happening stuff in London, it happened to be the exact opposite.. no fireworks, no crackers, no ppl cheering, the streets are dead… surprisingly, the next day boxing day was when the streets started to come alive!

The pink ranger Vs the white ranger! On Christmas eve, the white angel was delicately borned, proclaimed to be the angel that saved us from evil… (an internal joke, to inquire more about the white angel, you have to ask shaowei)

In London, we used a transport card called oyster card, for a 3 pound, you can get an oyster card and this deposit will be returned to you after that, and you topped up whatever amount you want, when it exceeds a certain amount, this card can be used for unlimited travels for that whole day! So of course we used that card for unlimited travels, but michelle had a bad experience with this card, it seems that smt went wrong with her card and she couldn’t enjoy the unlimited travel privilege!... she forked out 2x4 pounds extra because of this spoilt card!

On our last night in London, we met up with kangli and her bf, had a nice cozy thai dinner, a very warm atmosphere and nice to see a longtime friend in a faraway palce, the food was great, jus abit on the expensive side though…

Talking about food, it was puzzling that we didn’t manage to eat any fish and chips or Britain food, rather, we ate mostly asian food, cos asian food here is good and cheap…We had a buffet at Paper Tiger for only 4.99pounds! In Chinatown, we had duck rice, tried one mouthful, was awefully good! I had roast duck noodles as well, which cost about S$10…

Some interesting photos in the national history museum:

The interior of the museum

duck, rabbit, duck, rabbit, rabbit, rabbit... rabbit or duck?

65 million years ago, ... blah blah... the most interesting thing about the dinosaurs is the extinction part... all sorts of theories on extinction of dinosaurs are displayed in the form of comic drawings!

The life science area, showed this gruesome sucking baby in 10X life size

HAHA, one of my favorite pics: michelle looks super cute here. This is taken from the convex mirror that distorts our shape, we look like comic characters, dun we?
Other photos

I found GIRL GUIDES in UKLazing around
The red telephone booth, i always wanted to take a photo with this, but in the end we decided not to go into the booth for the photo, it was too dirty and smelly haha..

My fav pictures: notice that the artist deliberately draw the mirror image of the girl in a distorted image, the angle and light direction is wrong
our gathering with kangli!

the magnificent tower bridge - my favorite landmarks

London is beautiful n high class
