CIRCUS TROUPE Arlett GrussOnce i went to a circus which arrived in Grenoble, and that night had a price reduction and free seating!! This troupe stayed in grenoble for only 5 days and we thought that tix would run out quite fast but it was actually so easy to get it. In fact i just went there to try out my luck, and i got tix on the spot..when i went in, i was overwhelmed by kids and their cries.. and the smell of popcorn, candy floss and hotdogs.. it was quite amusing to come to smwhere i have always wanted to see but never got a chance to when i was young, yet it comes kind of late as i dun long for candy floss n popcorn as much... Well, on the whole, it was marvelous! except that i went alone :( Though it was kinda lonely sitting there amidst the families with the excited children, the ppl there were nice and friendly, and most smiled at me... of course, there were ppl of my age there, this is not a circus just for kids n daddy, mummy, i must emphasize..

typical of a circus:elephants coming in and made some dancing aerobic movements, though it was quite sad to see them moving so slowly and reacting to commands of the artists... at that point of time, i felt so sorry for these animals, i wondered how they were treated during practice, n i vowed not to watch animal circus again.. although the movements were all successfully carried out, they looked so old and dead, as if they were on drugs, it pains to see them doing this all for the sake of performance.. i started to wonder y we even bothered to clap after each round of movement they did...

this is jus a donkey running around the stage with the artist in the middle

I loved this part of the act, the artists were really graceful and skilled

this only chinese guy in tatooted skin colored costume putting up chairs as he went higher n higher wowed all audience then, seemingly it was the best and last part of the show, n one of my favorite acts, it jus got me wondering why i was not that amazed when i saw these acts on tv, at the point in time, we were all very worried for the small size guy...

The circus entrance
Overall i will rate this circus as 6/10 considering the good price, skill and entertainment
A hiking trip to Chamrousse(one of the mountains surrounding Grenoble)
i loved this view, totally awesome liberism

discussing where to go next

the hikers in the fog

It was really foggy, we cant see anything as we walked through the clouds except the ground about 10 metres radius around us: from left, we have Claudia, qinghan, mark, Yoana, and kevin in his red top at the back

Allez les bleus! (Go on the bleu)

You can see it is really cold up there, notice we are quite wet too with the rain drops condensing.. it was quite cool walking thru little drops of water in the clouds.. we r the first humans to experience the condensation directly... compared to the rain in spore, it is like "slow"rain

a group photo before leaving..since the weather isnt good n there wasnt much to see, but overall it was a good experience

had a picnic in a shelter we found in the midst of the mountains, the ppl who passed by us were all very friendly and smiled at us...they said "bon appetit" then later we found a sign that says: no picnic here allowed... in the building itself... hmmm...
shanru, u called me in the middle of the hike, haha , if u still rmb, my voice was shivering in the cold when i was talking to u
After the hiking trip, we went down to have mussels and pasta prepared by eugene.
It is the vacation period now, and here i m, finally starting to post some more pictures for the past month of activities.. but i cant remember the sequential events, so it kind of jumble up here and there.
